 Mahasthan, the present name of the ancient city known as "Pundurunagar (Pundranagar)", is situated in Shibganj, Bogra. About four thousand years ago Pundurunagar was an affluent and strong settlement.

 Dubalhati Rajbari is an ancient site with mythological in the south-western part of the district. The road to Dubalhati passes through the wide body of water known as “Dighli beel” (a beel is a large shallow lake or marsh). There is a large well in the center of the road for providing travelers with water. Today the road is becoming a recreational place for the town dwellers because of its natural beauty.

The mythological site of Dubalhati is the "Raja's Mansion" (Jomidar Bari or Rajbari). The house has two parts; the main part, Darbar Hall, is residential and used for holding seminars, while the other part, Natto Shalla, is for prayers. The rajbari is a three-story building standing on wide and long masonry slender spiral columns. There are four large dighi (small lakes) around the site.

The ancient Tajhat palace was built by Maharaja Kumar Gopal Lal Roy in the beginning of the 20th century. He was a descendent of a Hindu khatri who emigrated from the Punjab. He was a jeweler by profession. It is believed that from the conspicuous appearance of his Taj or jeweled crown, his estate derived the name of Tajhat.

This area is full of various kinds of trees, flora and fauna .Here you can see the gardens of Guava, Mango, Betel-nut etc. Here has some tribe people called Tipra and a tribe village. It is easy to climb up by the hilly way and climb down by the stairs way. The hills are looking very glamorous at rainy season, because of rain fall the trees and hills looks very fresh. But it is very dangerous to climb up the hill at rainy season.
